Under the Rainbow is a win-win solution for donors who wish to help clients
of Underground Railroad. You can support our mission by shopping at or donating
to Under the Rainbow, Underground Railroad’s resale shop.
The first and most important use of in-kind donations of clothing and
household items is to help victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and
stalking get a new start.
Our clients use URR issued vouchers to “shop” for the clothing and household
items they need. Revenue from the surplus donations provides funding for
programs and services needed by members of the community.

- Clean clothing, accessories and shoes - not torn or
stained - men’s, women’s and children’s
- Furniture - not torn or stained
- Linens
- Lamps, electronics, appliances in working
condition
- Musical instruments
- Personal hygiene items for shelter guests
- Baby items such as diapers, wipes, lotions, etc.
- Rugs
- Books, record albums, tapes, videos and CD's
- Cell phones, telephones, both cordless and corded
- Toys - any age children's games, puzzles and books
- Unbroken house wares, antiques and collectibles
- Used cars, boats, motor homes, motorcycles
- Mattresses and box springs, frames and headboards
- Cribs and children’s furniture in good condition
Unacceptable Items for Donation
- Unusable or broken items
- Carpet and carpet padding
- Encyclopedias
- Paint, chemicals, hazardous waste products, propane
tanks
- Waterbeds
- Guns, firearms, ammunition

Donation Pick-up
- If your pick-up location is with-in seven miles from our store, pick-up
is available for furniture and items that are too large to fit into your
car.
- All donation pickups are at the discretion of our drivers when they get
to your address. In accordance with our policy of selling only
quality items, drivers may refuse items they feel cannot be used by
Underground Railroad clients or Under the Rainbow will not be able to
sell.
Under the Rainbow is a division of Underground Railroad, Inc. a 501(c)(3)
corporation. All donations are tax deductible.
