Underground Railroad provides court support to survivors of abuse in the following ways:

  • Assists with Personal Protection Orders
  • Accompanies survivor to court proceedings
  • Safety plans for court proceedings
  • Provides information on court dates and times
  • Assists with Victim Impact Statements and Crime Victim Compensation Applications
  • Acts as a liaison between the survivor, police, prosecutors, and probation agents
  • Links survivors to resources
  • Helps explain and navigate the legal system including arraignments, preliminary examinations, trials, and sentencing
